Terms & Conditions

General terms governing website enquiries and the basis on which survey services are arranged.

Quotations and survey scope

A survey is undertaken only after the vessel, survey type, intended purpose and agreed scope have been confirmed in writing. Any work outside the agreed scope is subject to separate agreement.

Access and limitations

A survey is a non-destructive inspection of areas that are reasonably accessible on the day. Linings, tanks, sealed compartments, machinery, rigging or areas obstructed by equipment may limit inspection; material limitations are identified in the report.

Unless agreed otherwise, lift-out, yard access, keys, vessel attendance and any sea trial are arranged by the client or the party controlling the vessel.

Reports and intended use

The report is prepared for the client named in it and for the purpose stated in the agreed scope. It records the vessel's observed condition at the time of inspection and is not a warranty of future condition, performance or freedom from hidden defects.

At the vessel owner's request, a technical report may be submitted to an insurer, lender or other advisor. Final acceptance, required scope and reliance remain subject to that organisation's own criteria. Third-party reliance is not automatically granted by submission of the report.

Fees and third-party costs

Survey fees and included travel are stated in the quotation. Lift-out, yard charges, accommodation and other third-party costs are payable by the client unless expressly included in writing.

Cancellations and changes

Reasonable notice should be given for cancellation or postponement. Non-recoverable travel, accommodation, yard or other third-party costs already incurred may remain payable.

Professional limitations

Surveys are carried out with reasonable professional skill and care within the agreed non-destructive scope. Specialist testing, dismantling, certification or opinions outside that scope are not implied unless specifically agreed in writing.

Website information

Website content is general information about our services and does not replace the written quotation, survey agreement or report for a specific vessel. Where those documents differ from this website, the vessel-specific written agreement takes precedence.
